To Pink or Not to Pink

For the past 3 years I have posted pictures of my middle daughter Ella with pink hair on Facebook. The response is always an overwhelming applaud and approval.

This was when Ella was three and chopped her own hair off. I then bobbed it and dyed it with water color paint

The thing is, I don’t really like the pink hair. It’s usually stained for 3 weeks. The spray die makes her hair even harder to comb and for days the dye wears off everywhere around the house. It’s kind of a hassle!

So why do I do it then?

Because of this:

Pink hair created by using halloween temporary dye

Giving her this pink hair last night made her so joyous that it looked as though she was about to explode from the emotion. Her feeling that way makes her life,  but also my life fun.

I’ve come across some other things recently where artists have so much emotion flowing that it seems that they will just bubble over. The first was a blog post by my friend Michelle Workman. Just reading about her journey through the old Italian Glass Factory got me so excited because SHE was excited. Check out her post, it will take you on a journey.

The other was seeing this video from Mumford and Sons. Oh my goodness. They are just so alive.

I think it is healthy to do things that make us feel this way. So my answer is TO PINK!

  1. I love this!!! Whatever makes Ella happy. Scarlett loves her hair pink too and I recently found that chalk works and Urban outfitters sells this non-messy powder color♥
