Cool Parent-Jena Hartman Makes it Local

We are launching a new category on the blog! Locally Made Awesomeness. I am going to seek out artisans, designers, artists, bakers and all the wonderful people who make this city amazing through their work and feature them. I am really excited about this.

Last Saturday I stopped by Jena’s store Glammic. Jena and I met several years ago when she was working as a stylist for a print job I was doing.  We have worked together a number of times since and she is great at putting together the cutest looks and finds unexpected pieces that look great. She can size you up in about two seconds flat and choose what is going to be the best. (You can see some of her work with my two girls here.)

She started making these amazing cape shirts. They are this thick cotton that you just want to get all cozy in and the cape is super fun. Chloe and Ella love them.

Pretty soon she opened her very own store on Vallejo Street off of Polk. The store has all sorts of shirts, clothing, costumes and accessories that are all made in San Francisco. She also has a section of the store dedicated to custom designs that can be sewn on to any of the basic shirts.

When you walk in the store you feel like you’ve entered some kind of magic workshop of childhood wonder and imagination.

Jena is a strong supporter of the community. She works hard to keep her product produced locally and she supports every public school auction she can get her hands on.

So guess what?! Jena wants to give away one of her custom baby shirts to two lucky blog readers! All you need to do is leave a comment below!

If you could also share a link to this post on your social media of choice that would be awesome. I want to get the word out about Jena, her store and her products.

  1. I think that being involved in the community and making sure your product is delivered in a ethical local environment is important. I really like this idea! We have amazing local companies here but I don’t know of anything like this store in Portland. I want a shirt for Arabella!! :)

  2. Love the store! It looks like an awesome assortment of cool stuff. That tooth fairy pillow could have come in handy when Crispin lost his tooth at Disneyland. Luckily the tooth fairy comes to hotels.
PS Phoebe looks adorable in her rainbow shirt.
