I want to rewind today

Yesterday we went to Sausalito to spend the afternoon by the Marina and watch the Fireworks right by the water. My father-in-law, who is 83, spent all day with us, walking, playing and just enjoying his family.

The girls ran around and pretty much joined any family they thought looked interesting to chat and hang out with. Phoebe included, she was crawling all over the place and I would follow her as she would climb right onto someone else’s blanket to say hello or try to grab their drinks. It’s good the locals in Sausalito are easy going!

By the end of the day we were wiped but very satisfied that we had pushed the day to the limit and enjoyed every moment. While we were walking back to the car after the fireworks Ella said to me , “I want to rewind today”.

We got to the BBQ late. All that was left… corn. It was yummy though.

    • Thank you Jo Anne. It really was a great day. Ella was complaining that I hadn’t gone and done the 4th of July with them last year. (I was VERY pregnant) So we really had to go out and soak it up.

  1. Is that you holding your father in law’s hand, Jennifer? What a moving and beautiful photo. I’ve looked at it a few times, it really gets me. I am so glad you had such a nice day. Your photos are lovely! We were up on Caledonia for the parade like we usually do, but escaped afterwards up north to go to the movies!

I worked right on Bridgeway on the second floor of a building right across the street from that giant view of S.F. for over seven years, and when I was done with that, I still kept coming back. Stella took dance classes there for a few years when she was just old enough to take them, and I kept getting clients there. I’d do my work in the City Hall and she’d take class downstairs. Always by bus, we always made a day of it. It’s a nice place to be. :)

    • Sausalito is so lovely. Chloe and Ella almost took that Ballet class a few times but we could never get the timing to work out right. The Ferry is also another wonderful way to get to over there.

That is his wife of 50 years, Connie. I love that shot. One of my favorites of the day.
