Toddler Times

Phoebe has gotten to that stage I somehow forgot would happen. The stage where she hates a stroller, won’t sit in a high chair, wants to pull everything off shelves and pretty much be the boss of the universe.

Ahhhhhhh! Toddlers. How quickly the memories of Chloe and Ella come flooding back.

I guess the one thing I learned is the toddler years will not scar me for life. I will get through this. It is just gonna take me a little bit longer to get things done.

I’d like to think I am doing a bit better with it this time around. I am a little more relaxed at least.

Lucky for Phoebe, she balances it out with sweet kisses and things to make me laugh.

I pretty much just let her pull everything out so I could have a few quiet moments to myself. WORTH THE CLEAN UP.

Doing "quick grocery runs" is now impossible.

And this is how she balances it all out.

How do you guys get things done while caring for a toddler? Any tricks?

  1. Great post and so funny! Oh man – better you than me LOL! I was not patient and they lived! But I did always have a live in – even when I was completely broke! I would never have survived without one. You amazing me Jenny!

    • Haha! Thanks Joy! You had your priorities straight with your live in nanny and likely didn’t spend all your money on gourmet coffee like me!

  2. Talk about memories flooding back! Think you’ve got it down pretty well. Sometimes, I would ask one of my little ones to carry something (light) for me & it would distract them & keep them occupied. Of course it helps if it’s something like cookies & you’re heads for the checkout line.

  3. You didn’t mention the lost time spent changing a diaper. It’s basically a fight or 15 min of singing Old MacDonald and just letting her escape bare bottomed. Everything else you mentioned is exactly how it is at my house.
