Can Women Be Creative, Prosperous and Happy?

So often we are hit with the message that survival is too hard, that we cannot be successful or achieve prosperity and happiness. Certainly life throws us challenges that make this seem to be the case.

But is it true? Is it just impossible to be successful? Is it too hard to continue to grow, create and be prosperous? Can you make your dreams come true?

From what I’ve seen, some entrepreneurial women are proving that it’s not only possible to work hard, grow and be prosperous, it’s also fun and exhilarating.

One day when we look back at the progress and accomplishments of women, my hope is that we view this period we are in now as a turning point and see these hard working mothers and women as heroes who are shaping today’s culture and the future.

Here are just a handful of them:

Ellen Bennett celebrating with her apron squad after moving into their new headquarters for her booming apron company Hedley&Bennett. And, um… this girl is in her 20s.

Allison Wain took her love for dressing her son well and turned it into her own on-line store, One Hip Kid, where you’ll find the hippest little boys clothes you’ll ever see.

Christine Wheaton is not only an amazing hairstylist and makeup artist, she also creates an impressive line of bracelets, headbands and necklaces for her line Hip Honey Bee.

I’ve expressed my love for Melissa Pope before. She is one gorgeous mama who constantly creates, crochets, sews and paints for her Instagram shop Sweet Potato.

Do you recognize this beauty? That’s Susan Peterson, the founder of Freshly Picked Moccasins. She’s poured every fiber of her life and energy into making her dream come true and it’s awe inspiring.

Then there is this woman, CEO of Postcard Mania Joy Gendusa, who embodies the entrepreneurial spirit and is a marketing genius. She wants every single business and person she touches to succeed and believes in their ability to do so no matter where they’re starting from.

Each of these women have their own story and obstacles they need to overcome on a daily basis to keep creating and putting themselves out there over and over while simultaneously caring for their children or loved ones.

The key is that they just keep doing it. Continuously creating has been a common thread I have noticed for any successful endeavor. Create, learn from your mistakes, get back in there and create some more, learn from others and believe in yourself.

It is possible to dream big and one day you will see that dream sitting right in front of you in the real world.

Tell me your thoughts on this in the comments below. I would LOVE to hear your feedback or links to other successful artists or business people you know.

    • Sometimes all that hard work is hidden from view so you think people who have been working for years are an overnight success.

  1. I can’t tell you enough how important it is hat women support women. We can’t have catty behavior. Competitiveness is good for the soul but there is room for all of us and we can all succeed and of course it’s going to happen at different times. Let’s uplift rather than knock down!
