Chloe turned 10 on Friday.

She wanted a small gathering of family and friends. I kept trying to plan a bigger party and she would say, “I just want to do something fun with a few of my friends and have a sleepover.”

So we took everyone bowling and had a family dinner with ice cream sundaes for dessert.

Steve and I sit and talk about how different these girls are from each other and their unique qualities. We feel really lucky. The people we get to have in our lives make us rich.

There is something so ritualistic about bowling shoes.

Phoebe bowled a spare.
