Clearing Our Heads

We needed to get out of town.

Don’t get me wrong, San Francisco is amazing, but every once in a while you get a little closed in and need to go out to some open nature. We were invited by some friends to go to Mammoth for a long weekend.

The drive was about 5 hours, but we got to go through Yosemite. I always get so excited about going into National Parks. They are really one of the treasures of this country.

We stayed at the Snow Creek Resort in Mammoth. If you go in the off season you can get a condo that sleeps more than 10 for less than $300. They have a pretty nice pool and spa on the property too.

The main hike we took was Rock Creek Hike. It was amazing. You hike along a creek and there are a series of lakes until you get to the summit. Having a 7 week old baby and 2 kids under ten enabled us to make it to the second lake only, but it was great none the less. Snow melt, freezing but I had to go in. I swam until all my muscles started to cramp.

Every minute out in the wilderness we could feel our heads get lighter and lighter. Good friends, food and fun.
